Lukashenko calls for end to talk of succession, says his children won't be presidents

MINSK. March 31 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said once again that he is not going to promote any of his children to the presidency and has called for an end to talk of succession.

"Any talk of inheritance [or] succession needs to stop. My children won't be presidents," Lukashenko said in his annual address to the nation and the National Assembly aired live on the presidential website on Friday.

"You should remember that and stop talking about it. But we will not surrender our achievements. We will not surrender them, which means we will live, our children will live," he said.
