Belarusian economy remains resilient in face of unprecedented sanctions - PM Golovchenko

MINSK. March 31 (Interfax) - The Belarusian economy has a reserve of resilience, the country's Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said.

"We have not tapped all our reserves yet. The reserves are always there, and the main thing is to use the potential that we have 100%, to the fullest. And it is not little, and I won't say that all have now got down to business and are working with 100% dedication," Golovchenko said on the Belarus 1 state television channel.

"The preliminary results of how we, at least, began this year and have been working for two months are not bad. I would not say they are overly optimistic but so far we are moving in the vein of those tasks or objectives that we have set ourselves. There are minor shortcomings and failings, but they are not critical and are absolutely rectifiable. But by and large we have so far stuck to the trajectory we have built ourselves," Golovchenko said.

As for the anti-Belarusian sanctions, the pressure is unprecedented, he said. "I think, globally there is no country that would have experienced such an amount of pressure on itself," Golovchenko said.
