Russia's Bastion, Bal missile systems destroy mock enemy ships at drills in Kaliningrad region

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Bastion and Bal coastal missile systems have delivered a strike on mock enemy ships during an exercise on the coast of the Kaliningrad region, Russia's Baltic Fleet said on Monday.

" Bal and Bastion anti-ship coastal missile systems of the Baltic Fleet are taking part in a routine tactical exercise at training grounds in the Kaliningrad region, delivering a missile strike on mock enemy ships," the fleet said in a statement.

The participants in the drills practiced stationing military hardware on different positions, as well as arriving at the site, deploying the hardware and changing the formation and positions of the hardware after delivering a strike, it said.

"The exercise involves more than 100 troops and over 15 pieces of military and special hardware, as well as maritime and air situation mobile coastal reconnaissance systems," the fleet said.
