Minsk says Lukashenko to visit Moscow on April 5-6, hold talks with Putin

MINSK. April 4 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will visit Russia on April 5-6, where he will take part in a session of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State and hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the First Man's Pool Telegram channel close to the Belarusian presidential press service said on Tuesday.

"On April 6, the president will take part in a session of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State. The participants in the event will review the main areas of implementing the provisions of the Union State Treaty for 2021-2023 and the union programs. Another key topic is the elaboration of the Union State security concept," the statement reads.

At the meeting, the parties will sum up the results and discuss joint work for the coming period.

On the eve of the council session, on April 5, Lukashenko and Putin will hold a separate bilateral meeting. "The leaders of the two countries will discuss a broad range of issues in Belarusian-Russian relations, including those that are not subject to discussion at the Supreme State Council session, in particular import substitution, enhancement of cooperation, and development of high-tech industries. The international situation and current security measures will also be discussed," it said.
