YEKATERINBURG. April 5 (Interfax) - The Sverdlovsk region branch of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported the detention of a married couple on suspicion of spying on a defense plant.
"A special operation in Nizhny Tagil resulted in the detention of two Russian citizens for sharing military-technical information, which could be used against the Russian Armed Forces amid the special military operation, with Ukrainian security services in exchange for remuneration," the FSB said in a statement.
A criminal case was opened on counts of treason in the form of espionage.
"Spying tools were seized from the suspects' place of residence," the FSB said.
The couple was put into custody.
According to the FSB's video, the suspects handed over blueprints. The woman in the video says the payment stood at "around 100,000."
