ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 5 (Interfax) - Ukrainian artillery shelled five populated localities on the Dnieper's eastern bank in the Kherson region overnight, regional emergency services told reporters on Wednesday.
"Last night, the Kiev regime continued to shell civilian infrastructure in the towns of Novaya Kakhovka, Kakhovka and Alyoshki and in the villages of Novaya Zburyevka and Vasilyevka. A total of 42 tube artillery shells were fired," a representative of the emergency services said.
Ukrainian attacks were also observed throughout Tuesday. The village of Peschanovka sustained the heaviest damage, with 14 tube artillery shells hitting it. Krynki, Kardashinka, Alyoshki, Podlesnoye, Dnepryany, Staraya Zburyevka, Korsunka, Pokrovskoye and Golaya Pristan also came under attack. Ukrainian forces fired a total of 74 artillery shells at these villages.
There have been no reports of civilian casualties or damage to infrastructure so far.
Ukrainian forces shell populated areas on the Dnieper's eastern bank from the other bank. The Kherson regional administration continues to evacuate the population of a 15-kilometer strip along the Dnieper because of the ongoing attacks.
