Situation on Russian-Lithuanian border normalizes - Russian customs

KALININGRAD. April 5 (Interfax) - The amount of trucks waiting for passage through the Russian-Lithuanian border has returned to normal, the press service for Kaliningrad regional customs told Interfax.

"Lithuanian customs has cleared a long line of Russian trucks entering the country from the Kaliningrad region. A total of 197 articulated vehicles crossed into Lithuania via the Chernyshevskoye checkpoint over the past day. As of Wednesday morning, 15 trucks were waiting their turn to leave Russia, which is completely normal. There are no traffic jams in the direction of the Kaliningrad region," the press service said.

Lithuanian customs reported a technical failure on April 2, which caused a long line of trucks to appear.

Currently, Chernyshevskoye is the only checkpoint on the Russian-Lithuanian border that clears trucks. The number of trucks traveling to and from Russia has noticeably decreased due to anti-Russian sanctions.
