Putin calls for soonest possible integration of Russia's new regions into its legal system

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered that Russia's new regions be integrated into its legal system as soon as possible.

"We have to discuss our next steps to ensure law, order, and public security in the Donetsk and Lugansk republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions," Putin said at a Russian Security Council meeting on Wednesday.

The problem is multifaceted and directly related to Russia's national security and sovereignty, as well as prospects of those regions' development, he said.

"The goal is to do everything possible to integrate those historical Russian lands of Donbass and Novorossiya into our country's economic, legal, and educational domain as soon as possible," he said.
