PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. April 6 (Interfax) - Kamov Ka-29 helicopters of the Russian Pacific Fleet have hit mock saboteurs during an exercise in Kamchatka, the fleet press service said on Thursday.
In line with the exercise scenario, four Ka-29 and Ka-27PS helicopters of the fleet's Separate Joint Aviation Regiment were scrambled from their base to track down and kill a reconnaissance-and-sabotage group of the mock enemy detected by intelligence, it said.
"Ka-27PS found the mock enemy and transmitted its coordinates to the command post of the Separate Joint Aviation Regiment," the press service said.
In turn, Ka-29 were put on the course and fired unguided missiles at the mock enemy at a range. The mock enemy was eliminated.
The exercise took place at an alternate airfield, while missiles were fired in the coastal waters of the Avacha Bay.
