Russia's Alrosa sub fires torpedoes during exercise in Black Sea

MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - The Alrosa diesel-electric submarine has fired torpedoes at surface and underwater targets during an exercise in the Black Sea, the press service for the Russian Black Sea Fleet said on Thursday.

"The submarine performed a deep dive at a maritime range in the Black Sea to train ship control, firing at various depths, and various resurfacing methods," the press service said.

At the next stage of the exercise, the submarine will plant mines and will train evasion of anti-submarine aircraft, it said.
