Putin and Turkish president's rep discuss major projects, Akkuyu NPP fuel loading ceremony - Peskov

MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Turkish president's representative Ibrahim Kalin in Moscow, and discussed preparations for the upcoming ceremony to load fuel into the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) for the first time, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Such a meeting did take place," Peskov told reporters when commenting on Kalin's statement that he had personally met with Putin.

"At that meeting, they discussed the implementation of major projects that are on our countries' agenda, including the Akkuyu NPP, and of course they discussed how to celebrate and hold the ceremony to load [fuel into the NPP]," Peskov said.

Peskov reaffirmed that Russia would be represented at the ceremony at the appropriate level.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier did not rule out that Putin could visit Turkey on April 27 to attend the ceremony for loading the nuclear fuel into the Akkuyu NPP for the first time.
