MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - The stationing of Russia's strategic nuclear weapons was not discussed at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union on Thursday, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
Following the meeting, journalists asked Peskov what kind of situation might require the deployment of strategic nuclear weapons in Belarus, a possibility that its president, Alexander Lukashenko, mentioned earlier.
"I can't tell you to what extent this might have been discussed during yesterday's conversation. The conversation was very long indeed, it lasted well past midnight. But there was no talk about this today," Peskov said.
