MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - The United States has never given any guarantees regarding the safety of its research at biological labs, a high-ranking Russian Defense Ministry official said.
"It should be noted that the U.S. has never clearly declared its obligations concerning the safety of research at bio labs under its control. A lack of transparency in their operations risks the spread of hazardous pathogens where those biological facilities are located," Russian Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Forces Chief Igor Kirillov said at a press briefing.
"The transfer of the most hazardous research outside of its national territory is part of the United States' biological safety strategy. At the same time, the deployment of biological labs to other countries does not take into account the interests of local populations, and poses a serious threat to whole regions," he said.
