Duma endorses final report by commission on U.S. bio labs in Ukraine

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma endorsed a final report by an ad-hoc parliamentary commission investigating the operations of United States biological laboratories in Ukraine at its session on Monday.

Deputy Duma Chair Irina Yarovaya, who co-chairs the commission, said in the report that the investigation was initiated by Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

"Over the past year, we have done a lot of work. Hundreds of documents and various sources of information have been examined. We have correlated many facts, but we have also been able to identify witnesses, whom we interviewed and who gave us invaluable information on how the work of biological laboratories was actually organized in Ukraine," she said.

The parliamentary commission's final report on the operations of U.S. bio labs in Ukraine will be sent to all countries around the world, as well as to the Russian president and the Investigative Committee, she said.

Summing up the matter, Volodin said, "A lot of work has been done, and evidence has been collected. Let's do our utmost to make sure that the conclusions and decisions made today are implemented."
