BAKU. April 12 (Interfax) - International mediators are making efforts to return Armenia to the negotiating table for concluding a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.
"International mediators are striving to return Armenia to the negotiating table and are working hard towards this. We have called on Yerevan to return to the negotiating table," Bayramov said at a press conference on Wednesday, following negotiations with Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office and North Macedonian Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani.
Bayramov said he informed Osmani of Baku's efforts to normalize relations with Yerevan and of the basic principles of a future peace treaty.
Because of Armenia's destructive position, there have been no direct contacts between Baku and Yerevan since last December, and instead of joining direct talks, Armenia has resorted to military provocations, Bayramov said.
"Baku considers Yerevan's interference in the reintegration of Karabakh's Armenian population unacceptable," Bayramov said.
