Training situation typical for period of imminent threat of aggression set up for Russian Pacific Fleet's drills - General Staff chief

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - A training situation typical for a period of an imminent threat of aggression has been set up for the Russian Pacific Fleet's surprise readiness check, chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff Valery Gerasimov said.

"A training situation typical for a period of an imminent threat of aggression has been set up for the exercise," Gerasimov said at a conference with the Russian Defense Ministry's leading officials on Friday.

"During the event, it is necessary to put the tested forces in conditions as similar as possible to the essence and nature of modern warfare," he said.
