Foreign military attaches to be briefed on tasks of Russian Pacific Fleet's readiness check

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has ordered that foreign military attaches be briefed on the tasks of the surprise readiness check of the Russian Pacific Fleet.

"Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Vasilyevich Fomin shall organize the briefing of military attaches on the tasks of the surprise check of the Pacific Fleet," Shoigu said at a meeting with military commanders on Friday.

"The check will have a number of specific features," Shoigu said.

"Before the forces are deployed to the training area, it is planned to promptly examine the underwater situation on the approaches to the fleet bases," Shoigu said.

"The main training of the groups of ships will be conducted amid simulated actions of the enemy and in a high interference environment," he said.

"Please pay attention to the development of measures for countering the mock enemy throughout the whole check," Shoigu said.
