Peskov describes surprise check in Russian Pacific Fleet as standard practice maintaining combat readiness

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - The surprise readiness check in the Russian Pacific Fleet is a standard practice that maintains combat readiness of the Russian Armed Forces, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The practice of surprise checks is continuing. It is a standard practice, which has been carried out in recent years and is continuing. It helps maintain the necessary level of combat readiness of our Armed Forces," Peskov told reporters on Friday, responding to a question about the reason for the check.
