MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Wagner assault teams are fighting in the western districts of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

The Airborne Forces are supporting them, he said.

"In the Donetsk sector, Wagner assault teams are fighting highly intensively for urban blocks in the western districts of the city of Artyomovsk," Konashenkov told a briefing on Friday.

"Airborne Forces units are supporting the assault teams on the flanks and stopping the enemy's attempts to deliver munitions to the city and to bring in reserves," he said.

Konashenkov also said that "the southern group of troops' aviation performed 14 flights to support the assault teams in this district." "Missile troops and artillery accomplished 62 firings missions."

"The total losses of the enemy over the past 24 hours in this area reached up to 340 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, five armored combat vehicles, four cars, a Grad multiple rocket launcher, and also D-20 and D-30 howitzers," Konashenkov said.
