BAKU. April 14 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani-Russian commodity turnover in January-March 2023 reached $1.057 billion, which is 67.5% more than a year ago, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee told Interfax.
According to the State Customs Committee, trade transactions with Russia accounted for 8.98% of Azerbaijan's entire foreign trade turnover in January-March 2023, and Russia was Azerbaijan's third largest foreign trade partner.
The export of Azerbaijani products to Russia in the first quarter reached $260.9 million (a 68.2% increase). Overall, supplies of goods to Russia accounted for 3.37% of Azerbaijan's exports (Russia ranks ninth in the main areas of Azerbaijan's exports).
The import of Russian products to Azerbaijan in January-March reached $796.2 million (a 67.2% increase). Supplies of goods from Russia accounted for 19.76% of total imports to Azerbaijan (Russia is Azerbaijan's number 1 importer).
Accordingly, the State Customs Committee noted that Azerbaijan's negative export-import balance with Russia in the first quarter of 2023 reached $535.3 million.
According to earlier reports, Azerbaijani-Russian trade turnover reached $3.71 billion, which represents a 23.9% increase compared to 2021.
