Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs due to meet in Samarkand on Friday - Armenian parliament speaker

YEREVAN. April 14 (Interfax) - The speaker of the Armenian parliament, Alen Simonyan, has announced that a meeting will take place between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.

"Naturally, Armenia wants a peace treaty. At this point, I don't know if you are aware [of this] or not, our foreign ministers are due to meet today," Simonyan said to Azerbaijani Parliament Chairperson Sahiba Gafarova during a press briefing following a session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg.

Mirzoyan is currently in Samarkand, where he is participating in a meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council.
