Putin signs law introducing up to 200,000-ruble fines or arrest for trespassing at critical and sensitive sites

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill increasing the liability for deliberate trespassing at critical or high-security facilities that have mandatory security personnel on site.

The relevant document was published on the Russian official legal database website on Friday.

The bill stipulates administrative liability for unauthorized intrusion at duly guarded facilities of Russia's National Guard, Emergency Situations Ministry, Foreign Intelligence Service, Federal Security Service, Interior Ministry, or bodies of the penal system, and at facilities under the jurisdiction of the executive authority for mobilization training and mobilization.

This offense is to be penalized with a fine ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 rubles, or with 40 to 60 hours of community service, or with administrative arrest for up to 10 days.

It also establishes liability for unauthorized entry at a duly guarded facility of the Russian Armed Forces, a guarded facility that is protected by state security bodies, a facility of the fuel and energy sector that has a relevant hazard category attributed to it, or at an important state facility, a communications facility, or special cargo guarded by the Russian National Guard Troops.

This offense is penalized with a fine of 75,000 to 200,000 rubles, or community service of 60 to 120 hours, or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
