Finnish embassy to be informed about examination of envelope containing powder - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russia's Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the Finnish Embassy in Moscow received an envelope containing white powder, and that the results of its examination will be communicated to the embassy.

"We can confirm such a request by the Embassy of Finland [was sent] to the Russian Foreign Ministry, which said that on April 13 three identical envelopes addressed to the military attache and his aides were delivered to the diplomatic mission's mailbox. Upon opening the first envelope, it was found to contain white powder, after which the other two letters were left sealed. All three envelopes were passed on by the diplomatic mission to Russian law enforcement agencies," the ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a reply to a question from the media.

"The Embassy of Finland will be informed about the results of what happened," said the reply published on the ministry's website.
