VLADIVOSTOK. April 18 (Interfax) - An Iskander tactical missile system of the Russian Eastern Military District's combined arms force, stationed in the Primorye Territory, destroyed a mock enemy command post during an exercise, the military district's press service said.
"Personnel of the Eastern Military District performed kilometers-long marches to reach their positions, where they deployed launchers, transporter-loaders and command post vehicles, camouflaged and equipped the positions, and delivered and reloaded missiles," the press service said.
After receiving the coordinates of mock enemy targets, the Iskander system unit simulated the destruction of the mock enemy command posts by carrying out electronic missile launches at a distance of several hundred kilometers. Servicemen also practiced changing the system's positions many times and repelled an attack by a mock enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group.
The exercise also helped check their practical skills to prepare the system for operation and to deliver missile strikes, both solo and in groups, by carrying out electronic missile launches on targets imitating mock enemy command posts.
