Kazakh, Azerbaijani DMs discuss bilateral cooperation, including military-technical cooperation in Astana

ASTANA. April 18 (Interfax) - Kazakh Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov has discussed a broad range of bilateral cooperation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Zakir Hasanov, who arrived in Astana on a visit, the press service for the Kazakh Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"The parties discussed various aspects of the current state of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the military sphere. The parties had detailed talks on military-technical cooperation, conducting joint military training activities, personnel training, and discussed other issues of further cooperation between the Defense Ministries," the press service said.

"In the military sphere we have prospects for enhancing cooperation in various areas," the Kazakh minister was quoted by the press service as saying.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani military delegation visited the National Defense University in Astana, where military personnel undergo postgraduate training. A visit to the Military Institute of the Ground Forces in Almaty is also scheduled.
