Yantar Shipyard delivers upgraded Neustrashimy patrol ship to Russian Navy

ST. PETERSBURG. April 18 (Interfax) - The Yantar Shipyard of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has delivered the repaired and upgraded Neustrashimy patrol ship to the Russian Navy, the USC press service said.

"The act for delivery and acceptance of the Neustrashimy has been signed after scheduled maintenance and upgrade[s] at the Yantar Shipyard," the press service said.

The acceptance trials checked the serviceability of the ship's navigation, radar surveillance and target acquisition systems, artillery, and air defense missile system, as well as other elements.

The scheduled maintenance of the Neustrashimy began in 2014. The maintenance period was significantly increased after fault detection revealed much more significant flaws than expected. The ship underwent a profound upgrade.

The Neustrashimy is the first ship of Project 11540 built by Yantar in 1990. It has been part of the Russian Baltic Fleet since 1991.
