U.S. State Dept. urges NATO countries to track data on possible nuclear weapon deployments in Belarus

WASHINGTON. April 18 (Interfax) - Washington is closely following any information on potential deployments of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus and thinks it necessary to share such data, United States Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said.

"All of us have been very watchable of this. [...] I think we all must react we must all call it out. [...]I think the sharing of intelligence is one of the tools that we have in our toolbox that we have not used in quite the way we have now. And I think we will try to continue to do so," Sherman said at the opening of the annual NATO conference.

Earlier this month, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said his country's plans to host Russian tactical nuclear weapons were due to Western countries destroying the structure of international military security.
