Russian defense minister checks fulfilment of state defense contracts in Kaluga region

MOSCOW. April 19 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has inspected the fulfilment of state defense contracts at a facility in the Kaluga region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

"The head of the Russian Defense Ministry inspected the production capacities of a facility manufacturing electronic warfare equipment for the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian defense minister was also shown promising electronic warfare systems," the ministry said.

The head of the facility reported to the minister on the fulfilment of state defense contracts, and on ongoing projects to further expand production capacities.

According to the facility's head, the production of all items, including space- and aircraft-based ones, has significantly increased through modernizing production lines, increasing labor productivity and introducing new technologies. The total output of electronic warfare equipment "will increase dramatically" due to new contracts that will soon be signed with the Defense Ministry, the report said.

During his visit, Shoigu had a working meeting with the facility's administration and representatives of relevant military command bodies, where he ordered a further increase in the production of electronic warfare equipment. This equipment has proved effective in the special military operation, the ministry said.
