KRASNOYARSK. April 19 (Interfax) - Artyom Uss, a Russian businessman and the son of Krasnoyarsk Territory's Governor Alexander Uss, is again listed in the Russian Interior Ministry's database of wanted people.
According to earlier reports, no information on the businessman existed in the electronic database.
"No information available for your request," stated the electronic database in its response when attempts were made to search for information on Artyom Uss.
Uss, who escaped from house arrest in Italy, voluntarily went to the Russian Interior Ministry's investigative directorate in April. After being questioned, he was released after submitting to travel restrictions.
Uss was detained at an Italian airport on a U.S. warrant on October 17, 2022. The U.S. charged him with evading sanctions. He was transferred from jail to house arrest in December.
The Moscow City Court ruled in December 2022 to validate the arrest warrant for Artyom Uss, who had been declared wanted internationally by Russian law enforcement agencies.
Russia indicted Uss in absentia for large-scale laundering of money or other property illegally acquired by other individuals as part of an organized group.
On March 21, 2023, an appeals court in Milan upheld Uss's extradition to the U.S. It emerged on March 24 that he had escaped house arrest.
