Lavrov visits Nicaragua

MANAGUA. April 20 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov paid a visit to Nicaragua on Wednesday, an Interfax correspondent reported.

During the visit, Lavrov was received by President Daniel Ortega at a meeting, which took place at the Olof Palme Congress Center in the capital Managua.

At the start of the meeting, Lavrov conveyed Russian President Vladimir Putin's greetings to Ortega and congratulated him on Peace Day, which Nicaragua marks on April 19.

The meeting then continued in the absence of the press.
