YEREVAN. April 20 (Interfax) - Armenia stands ready to host a mission of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in its territory, and it is necessary to ensure that such a mission is effective, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
"Not only Russia is ready [for the deployment of a CSTO mission], but Armenia is ready too. Our wish and aspiration is to ensure that this possible mission is effective," Pashinyan told reporters on Thursday.
It is important both to Armenia, to the CSTO and to the region, he said.
"We are continuing this work," Pashinyan said.
As reported, the CSTO has prepared a draft document on sending its mission to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict area and is awaiting political approve from the leaders of its member countries.
