DUSHANBE. April 20 (Interfax) - A strategic exercise involving government and law enforcement agencies, Khatlon garrison bodies, and units from the Tajik Armed Forces and the 201st Russian military base has taken place in southern Tajikistan, the Tajik national news agency Khovar said on Thursday.
"An important military and political exercise was held in a theoretical and practical format across five stages, simultaneously featuring both reserve training and territorial defense," the agency said.
The results of the joint exercise's final stage were summarized at the Kharb Maidon range with the participation of the Tajik Defense Ministry leadership, representatives of Russia's Central Military District, officials from the municipal and district executive authorities of the Khatlon region, and the heads of law enforcement and security agencies. Active participants in the exercise were presented with medals and memorable gifts.
