MOSCOW. April 20 (Interfax) - The Admiral Makarov frigate and the Yeisk small anti-submarine ship have practiced searching for and detecting a mock enemy submarine in the Black Sea, the press service for the Russian Black Sea Fleet said on Thursday.
"During the exercise, the ships successfully accomplished their submarine search and tracking missions and conducted a series of onboard drills, which focused on the use of torpedoes and bomb delivery," the press service said.
The Stary Oskol submarine posed as the mock enemy vessel, it said.
"The exercise took place at a maritime training ground in the Black Sea in line with the fleet's combat training plan," it said.
The ships also interacted with anti-submarine planes of the Black Sea Fleet's air units during the drills, the press service said.
