BRUSSELS. April 20 (Interfax) - NATO will support Ukraine over the long term in order to achieve the full interoperability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the alliance, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said following talks in Kiev.
"Today, the president and I discussed a multi-year support initiative," Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Kiev that was streamed on the NATO website.
The program will facilitate Ukraine's "transition from Soviet-era equipment and doctrines to NATO standards and ensure full interoperability with the alliance," he said.
