MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's statement about the possibility of Ukraine's admission to the alliance points to NATO's aggressive nature and encroachment on Russia's security, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"NATO is continuing to demonstrate its aggressive nature, which we have spoken about earlier, even before the start of the special military operation. NATO is obviously continuing its policy aimed at absorbing Ukraine and drawing it into the alliance. Our president spoke about this potential threat long before the start of the special military operation," Peskov told reporters when commenting on Stoltenberg's statement that NATO member countries had reached agreement regarding Ukraine's possible admission to the alliance.
"All this demonstrates to everyone who is inclined to think for themselves at least to some degree that the president's decision to launch the operation was right, and it bore in mind the Russian Federation's interests and the need to ensure its security," he said.
"We are dealing with an aggressive bloc, which views our country as an adversary and is encroaching on the security of our country," Peskov said.
