MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - A spacewalk previously scheduled for April 26 that will be carried out by Russian cosmonauts outside the International Space Station (ISS) has been postponed until early May for "a more detailed study of its tasks," Roscosmos said on Monday.
"The spacewalk previously scheduled for April 26, 2023, has been tentatively postponed until early May due to the need for a more detailed study of its tasks," the press service said.
At the same time, the state corporation noted that cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin are preparing for the upcoming spacewalk in a routine manner.
"During the spacewalk, the cosmonauts will need to move the airlock with the ERA robotic arm from the Rassvet module and dock it to the Nauka module," Roscosmos said.
On April 19, cosmonauts Prokopyev and Petelin conducted a spacewalk outside the ISS that involved moving the radiation heat exchanger from the Rassvet module to the Nauka module using the ERA robotic arm.
On March 24, Roscosmos announced that a number of spacewalks would be carried out by Russian cosmonauts in the spring and summer of 2023, in order to complete the integration of the Nauka module with the Russian ISS segment.
