Turkmen deputy FM, high-ranking U.S. army officer discuss regional cooperation in Ashgabat

ASHGABAT. April 24 (Interfax) - Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev and Gen. Michael Kurilla, commander of the United States Central Command, met at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry on Monday, the ministry reported on its website.

The meeting addressed vital issues relating to security and regional cooperation. The two sides also exchanged opinions on the situation in the region and in Afghanistan, the report said.

In addition, the meeting addressed bilateral issues as part of an annual program of cooperation on matters like cybersecurity, information exchange, and organizing briefings and training programs on information security, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said.
