Moscow declares 10 employees of Norwegian embassy personae non gratae

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Russia will expel ten employees of the Norwegian embassy in Moscow on the principle of reciprocity, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

Norwegian Ambassador Robert Kvile was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday and "a strong protest was voiced to him in connection with Oslo's decision to expel 15 diplomats of the Russian embassy to Norway, alongside employees of the military attache's office," the statement said.

The Norwegian ambassador "was presented with a notice of retaliatory declaration of ten employees of the Norwegian embassy in Moscow and the defense attache's office as personae non gratae," the ministry said.

"Additionally, the Norwegian ambassador was told about other measures to be taken in the context of Oslo's unfriendly actions, including restrictions on the recruitment of Russian citizens as local personnel of Norwegian diplomatic missions," it said.
