MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom will have to bear responsibility for supplying Ukraine with munitions containing depleted uranium, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Wednesday when commenting on UK Minister of State for the Armed Forces James Heappey's announcement that London sent thousands of tank rounds to Kiev, including ones which contained depleted uranium.
"Britain should understand that it will have to bear responsibility for this," Peskov said.
"Certainly, those who will be using such munitions should understand that not only will they cause irreparable damage to themselves and their citizens, but that they will also have to bear responsibility for this," Peskov said.
Russia has drawn the Western public's attention to "official data that has been published concerning the use of such munitions in the bombing of Yugoslavia, [including] data on an increase in the number of cancerous and other diseases," he said.
"This information is very, very deplorable," Peskov said.
