MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Russian assault units have taken control of another four blocks in the northwestern, western and southwestern parts of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.
"In the Donetsk sector, assault units have taken control of four blocks in the northwestern, western and southwestern parts of Artyomovsk," Konashenkov said.
"Units of the Airborne Forces are immobilizing the enemy in the northern and southern outskirts of the city, and are supporting the assault units' operations," he said.
Strikes delivered by tactical and army aircraft and artillery from the southern group of forces defeated Ukrainian army units near Stupochki, Chasov Yar and Kalinina, he said.
"Military aircraft carried out four missions, and artillery of the group of forces completed 59 fire missions in this sector over the past 24 hours," Konashenkov said.
"A U.S.-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-mortar radar was destroyed near the populated locality of Novgorodskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic," he said.
The Ukrainian army's losses in this sector over the past day included more than 400 troops and mercenaries, two infantry fighting vehicles, six armored fighting vehicles, four automobiles, D-20 and D-30 howitzers, and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, Konashenkov said.
