Command and observation posts of Ukrainian special ops forces, 2 brigades hit in Kherson region, DPR - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Russian forces have hit command and observation posts of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces along with two Ukrainian brigades in the Kherson region and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"Command and observation posts of the southern contingent of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces and the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 110th Mechanized Brigade and 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade were hit near Cherkesskoye in the Kherson region and Avdeyevka and Serebryanka in the DPR," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.

"Fighter jets from the Russian Aerospace Forces downed a Sukhoi Su-24 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force near Lipovka in the DPR," he said.

"Tactical aircraft, army aviation, missile forces and artillery from the Russian Armed Forces' contingent hit 78 Ukrainian artillery units at their firing positions, as well as the troops and hardware of the enemy in 109 areas," Konashenkov said.

Two Ukrainian acquisition and tracking radars, P-18 and ST-68, were destroyed in the DPR, he said.

Russian air defense intercepted four projectiles fired from a HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket system and downed 21 Ukrainian drones in the DPR, the LPR, and the Kharkov, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, Konashenkov said.

"In total, 413 planes, 228 helicopters, 3,882 unmanned aerial vehicles, 421 air defense missile systems, 8,878 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,095 multiple rocket launchers, 4,671 artillery systems and mortars, and 9,805 special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation," he said.
