Russia, Turkey agree to step up economic, trade cooperation - Putin

MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey will continue to step up economic and trade cooperation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Apart from peaceful atom cooperation, we've just discussed other relevant aspects of the development of the entire range of Russian-Turkish relations. In this context, a number of fundamentally important joint agreements have been achieved. We've agreed to further deepen our economic and trade interaction and stimulate consistent growth in bilateral trade turnover, which topped $62 billion in 2022," Putin said during a ceremony for the delivery of Russian nuclear fuel to Unit 1 of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which he attended via video link.

Russia and Turkey also agreed to encourage mutual investments and help businesses enter each other's markets, he said.
