Armenian PM discusses Lachin corridor with French FM

YEREVAN. April 27 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna discussed the situation in the Lachin corridor at a meeting in Yerevan on Thursday.

"The parties discussed the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, the situation in the Lachin corridor, stated the need to unblock the Lachin corridor, the inadmissibility of unilateral steps taken by Azerbaijan, including the placement of a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor," the Armenian government's press service said.

Pashinyan and Colonna also discussed the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of the European Union mission's effective operation in Armenia.

At the meeting, Pashinyan said he was pleased with the pace of relations between Armenia and France, "which has a potential for development."

For her part, Colonna said, "France is Armenia's friend." "We are beside Armenia, beside you in the search for a just and lasting peace," she said.
