Russia, China agree to complement each other in high-tech industries - Putin

MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has tasked the government with stepping up the promotion of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles in foreign markets, including cooperation with China in this area.

"I have recently met with my Chinese counterpart and we agreed that we should complement each other, especially in high-tech industries, where either of us makes progress, so that we exchange such information and help the market develop. We will be doing all that. We just need to elaborate export support instruments at the government level," Putin said at a presentation of Russian drone companies.

In turn, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov said, "We are elaborating a stance for negotiations with the target countries, including China: we are raising questions about drones, including exports of our solutions, as well as imports of what is in short supply."

Speaking of instruments to support the industry, Belousov said that the Russian Export Center has a rather wide range of tools, "including financial and non-financial support, and everything will be done."

Putin said he was confident "of support by colleagues in friendly countries." "Unmanned aerial vehicles do not contract African Swine Fever, so I am sure that will be even easier than promoting pork on the Chinese market," he said.
