FSB reports thwarting act of sabotage at power substation in Kaluga region

MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced the detention of a Nazi ideology supporter who was plotting an act of sabotage at a power substation in the Kaluga region.

"The Russian Federal Security Service prevented preparations for an act of sabotage at a power system facility in the Kaluga region," the FSB said on Friday.

The suspect detained by the FSB is "a supporter of neo-Nazism, a Russian citizen born in 2006 involved in preparations for setting fire to a power substation," it said.

"Three improvised incendiary devices were discovered in a cache equipped by the wrongdoer. Communication devices containing instructions for making improvised incendiary devices have also been seized," it said.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee on a count of preparations for an act of sabotage, it said.
