Russian Armed Forces supplied with enough ammo in 2023 for effective fire on Ukrainian troops - Shoigu

MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have been supplied with a sufficient amount of ammunition for effective fire on Ukrainian troops, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"This year, the Armed Forces have been supplied with a sufficient amount of ammunition for effective fire on the enemy," Shoigu said at a teleconference on Tuesday.

"On the whole, the defense industry accommodates the needs of the army and the navy. Nevertheless, it would be necessary to timely detect risks of non-fulfillment of obligations by enterprises and rapidly take corrective measures," he said.

Enhancing capacities of repair plants is another important issue, Shoigu said.

"Currently, the daily amount of repaired weapons exceeds the number of broken ones by a ratio of three to two. Organizational measures have cut the number of faulty equipment subject to repairs by 1.5 times," he said.
