Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs continuing talks in U.S

YEREVAN. May 2 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov are continuing talks in the United States.

"As part of the visit to Washington, discussions between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers are continuing in Arlington today," the Armenian Foreign Ministry told Interfax.

The Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington earlier, on May 1. "They discussed issues relating to the regional security situation, [and] the process of settling relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the Armenian Foreign Ministry's press service said.

The head of the Armenian parliament's permanent commission on European integration, Arman Yeghoyan, told reporters earlier on Tuesday that the talks between Mirzoyan and Bayramov would continue for several days because of the voluminous and substantive subject matter of the talks.

He also said that Yerevan has the "utmost expectations for the negotiations."

"The negotiations address the entire range of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, every outstanding problem. Everything will be done to achieve consent on each of those matters," Yeghoyan said.

Armenia and Azerbaijan are currently holding talks about a document titled the Agreement on the Normalization of Relations.
