Russian Pacific Fleet trains drone countermeasures in Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK. May 3 (Interfax) - The Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate and the Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvette of the Russian Pacific Fleet have trained drone countermeasures, the fleet press service said on Wednesday.

"The territorial command center of the Pacific Fleet has warned the ships about unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles approaching the fleet's main base, in line with the exercise scenario," it said.

The ships were put on mock alert, and battle stations stood ready to deter a drone attack. ECM specialists from the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate intercepted electronic simulations of the unmanned aerial vehicles, which were destroyed by artillery crews of the Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvette.
