Russian Pacific Fleet's marine aviation trains submarine hunt in Pacific

VLADIVOSTOK. May 3 (Interfax) - Tupolev Tu-142MZ aircraft from the Russian Pacific Fleet's marine aviation have trained hunting a mock enemy's submarine in the Pacific Ocean, the fleet press service said on Wednesday.

"During the exercise, the pilots trained using radars and hydro-acoustic detection systems, and received and analyzed data," the press service said.

The planes "spotted" the hostile submarine and followed it until a surface ship of the Pacific Fleet arrived at the location. A plane provided the ship with the submarine's coordinates.

The Tu-162MZ aircraft also trained holding the course and piloting cohesion.
