NOVOSIBIRSK. May 3 (Interfax) - The First Eastern District Military Court in Novosibirsk has convicted two members of international terrorist networks banned in Russia on counts of propaganda and sponsoring of terrorism, the press service for the Novosibirsk regional branch of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement.
"Adkhamov and Khozhikhonov have been sentenced to 13 and 14 years of incarceration, respectively. They will spend the first four years in jail and will serve the rest in a high-security penitentiary," the press service said.
The court found that Zhobirkhon Ismoil ugli Adkhamov, a foreign citizen and follower of the Khatiba al-Tawhid wal-Jihad organization, banned in Russia, was secretly recruiting residents of the Novosibirsk region into activity of the banned terrorist network and sponsored terrorism by transferring money to network members.
Another foreign citizen, Shokhirkhon Khamidullokhon ugli Khozhikhonov, was a member of ISIL, banned in Russia, and built a propaganda website for recruiting residents of the Novosibirsk region into ISIL activity.
